Senate Okays Data Price increase, Says "NCC Acted In National Interest"

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has acted in national interest on the issue of data price increase, the Senate Committee on Communications has said. The Committee, which visited the NCC headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday as part of it oversight functions, said Nigerians should see the commission as being on their side on the issue of data price increase. Senator Solomon Olamilekan (Lagos West) who spoke on behalf of the committee members, said the NCC had taken some commendable steps to sanitize the telecom industry and the data price hike was one of them.

Dethroned Miss World Kenya 2016 Roshanara Ebrahim will receive KSh1 million in damages from her ex-boyfriend, Frank Zahiten, who leaked her nude photos which resulted in Roshanara being decrowned. The High Court on Tuesday, heard that Mr Zahiten, the third respondent in the case petition number 361 of 2016, leaked the photos, which were taken between 2013 and 2015, when the two were lovers to Ms Ashleys Kenya CEO Terry Mungai in April 2015. Mr Zahiten, a private citizen, defended himself, saying the photos were taken in March, 2016 but the court dismissed his submission,

A young, possibly troubled man, Bakare Babalola Rotimi jnr is currently cooling off in police detention for allegedly killing his father and stabbing his mother, who is currently in critical condition. 24 year old Rotimi who has lived in Ireland since he was 7, was brought back to Nigeria after he refused to go to school and had delved into a life of drugs. On Sunday 4th of December, Rotimi Jnr finalized plans to kill both parents in their Magodo home. How Nollywood Filmmaker Escaped Death At Uyo Church Collapse (Pics)

Nollywood actor and filmmaker Ekere Nganga was among the survivors at the Reigners Church Uyo Building Collapse but sustained a fatal injury on his neck. The film maker said that when he got to the venue on Saturday, he discovered that the church was still under construction and the roof was not fully covered. He stated that after the governor and his entourage and the bishops sat down , he heard a big noise from the falling iron. He said he noticed that people who were in safe areas ran to the centre where he sat. He hid himself under some people.

Governor WIKE reacted to this invitation by saying he has been vindicated by the video evidence: Rivers State Governor , Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the government and people of the state would no longer play host to the Officer in charge of Special Anti-Robbery Squad ( SARS ), Mr Akin Fakorede as he is a threat to the security of the state . The governor who said that he has been vindicated , pointed out that Akin Fakorede is one of the two police officers.

Amber Heard, through her lawyers, has filed a document against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, for refusing to follow through on the divorce settlement agreed upon. It has been gathered that Johnny Depp’s reason for stalling is because he feels Amber Heard broke the terms of their divorce settlement by speaking publicly about domestic violence. In a letter written by Heard for the December issue of the fashion magazine, Porter, the actress wrote about domestic violence and female empowerment, alluding to her personal experiences. Part of the letter read; "You are not alone.
