Outrage in Saudi Arabia as German minister refuses to wear a hijab during visit

The German defence minister, Ursula von der Leyen, has caused outrage after she and her team refused to cover their hair during an official visit to Saudi Arabia. Von der Leyen, while in the Muslim county failed to wear the traditional hijab, even when she met with the Deputy Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman al Saud. Her action did not go down well with Saudi Arabians who took to social media to express their displeasure. Senators call for the resignation and prosecution of SGF, Babachir Lawal, over his alleged involvmnet in IDP contract fraud

The senate today received the Interim Report of The Ad-Hoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in the North East. In the report, the committee indicted the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, of awarding contracts to a company which he has links to. Babachir is in charge of the Presidential Initiative on North East PINE. At a public hearing in October, the committee heard of how a company was award a contract of N270 million just to clear grasses at IDP camps. The committee in its report, stated that it discovered that most of the contracts were bog.

The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, has made a donation of $1.4 million to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in Borno State. ECOWAS President, Marcel de Souza, made the donation on behalf of the African regional body in two separate cheques of $1 million and $0.4million. He handed the cheques to Governor Kashim Shetima with instructions that the fund should be used to procure relief materials for the IDPs as he also informed Borno State of ECOWAS’ concern about happenings in Northeast Nigeria, and expressed how he was impressed with the manner the State Govern..

Police drags woman off airline for refusing to check in at gate (Photos & Video)

A video was captured of a woman being forcibly removed from a Delta flight by police officers after she boarded without complying with boarding procedure. The Delta flight 2038, which was supposed to take off from Detroit Metropolitan Airport for San Diego, was delayed after an unnamed woman boarded without complying with boarding and baggage check procedures. According to Rene deLambert who posted the video on YouTube, the woman was loud and kept demanding for overhead bin space. 38-year-old Nigerian student Tosin Femi Olasemo, who posed as a US Army captain to con lonely women out of their life savings has been ordered by UK court to repay more than £200,000. The duped women believed Captain Morgan Travis was an Afghan war hero looking for love on website Match.com. But Captain Travis did not exist and had been invented by fraudster Olasemo, who was jailed in 2015 for four-and-a-half years after admitting fraud.

British Transport Police is searching for a man who sexually assaulted a female passenger, 21, after he couldn’t take his eyes off her breasts, while they were on board an express train. According to reports, the man kept staring at the woman's breasts, sat next to her, and then allegedly started touching her inappropriately. When she shouted at him, he moved to another seat. When the train stopped, he disembarked and vanished into the crowds at Paddington station in London, Officers believe that the man may have done it before and have now released a CCTV .
