EFCC Files 30 Charges Against Justice Ajumogobia, SAN

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has filed 30 charges against a Federal High Court judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia; and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Obla, The Punch is reporting. The EFCC said about $793,800 passed through the judge’s domiciliary accounts between 2012 and 2015. The judge allegedly used the money to buy a house in London. The two accounts, Access Bank (0002649223) and Diamond Bank (0032091183) have since been frozen by the EFCC. The commission is expected to arraign the two suspects before a Lagos State High Court this week. 

Cleaner Narrates How He Stole N5.675m From Bank

A cleaner, Peter Oko, has narrated how he stole N5.675 million from the New Nyanya branch of Diamond Bank, where he worked. The 29 year-old stated that he took the keys to the vault, stole the money and hid it in a carton, which he took home after the close of work. The money was however recovered by the police, which said that the suspect had been charged to court. Lazarus Nwafor, a 26-year-old Catholic Seminarian slaughtered by Fulani herdsmen who invaded Ndiagu, Akagwe-Ugwu. Nkanu-West Local Government Area of Enugu State on August, 2016, has been buried. The rampaging herdsmen also ripped open the stomach of a six month pregnant woman. Four members of Ogbodo Nwarum family, whose house the slain Seminarian was a tenant, also sustained machete cuts. A bride in Ghana was left devastated after her big day was ruined by her cheating groom's lover. The said lover burst into the wedding venue in a wedding dress and tried to make a scene. Shouting and screaming can be heard and, at one stage, the woman grabs the mic and speaks to the audience in a local dialect, apparently explaining that the groom is a philanderer. It is unclear whether the ceremony went ahead, however GhanaAudioVisiualNews claimed a fight later erupted in the hall.
