Car somersaults and lands in a ditch after a horrible accident in Lagos (Photos)

A horrible car accident occurred today at Sholabor Bridge in Ikorodu area of Lagos. The car somersaulted and landed in a canal after the crash. No update yet as to if there was any casualty. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, have retrieved the vehicle and towed it out of the ditch to another location. More photos after the cut. BudgIT , a data-simplifying civic organisation has said 33, out of the 36 states of the Federation, are unable to fulfill recurrent obligations. In 2015, BudgIT said only 19 states were in that situation. Before President Muhammad Buhari’s administration officially declared Nigeria in a recession, few months ago, 17 states were reportedly able to meet up with recurrent needs, but, according to BudgIT’s report, only three states can now meet recurrent obligations. A report released by the organisation titled ‘State of States’ showed that only Lagos, Rivers and Enugu are the states.

A potential plane crash in Nigeria was averted on Friday as an Arik Air aircraft lost one of its two engines mid-air with over 100 passengers on board. The aircraft, a Boeing 737 with the registration number 5N-MJD, departed from Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, for Jos when the pilot discovered that the plane had lost one of its engines during the flight. According to Sahara reporters, the aircraft was already 60 miles away from Lagos before the incident occurred. Immediately after the pilot discovered the problem, he contacted the Lagos control tower.

Bosnia and Herzegovina striker Edin Dzeko saw red during a World Cup qualifying match after leaving an opponent red-faced when he pulled down his shorts. The incident came in the 79th minute when Bosnia captain Dzeko was on the receiving end of a rough challenge by Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Nigerian Customs Service is stinking, says Bukola Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki, today said the Nigeria Customs Service is "stinking" following the level of corrupt practices said to be going on there. Saraki said this during plenary when he reacted to reports that the former Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko, who is being investigated for corruption, recently refunded N1 billion cash to the Federal government. He called on the senate to investigate alleged corrupt practices in Customs.

If you haven't heard the story yet, let us summarise. Oritsefemi went to Quilox nightclub on Friday night, got into a fight with one of the bouncers. He broke a wine bottle on the bouncer's head, cutting his face and other bouncers pounced on Oritsefemi, beating him to a stupor. The singer just shared a photo of himself in hospital, writing to his fans. He asked for fogiveness and admitted acting unruly. Police in Kenya arrest Nigerian man with over 860,000 fake US dollars (PHOTO)

Kenya police raided a house in Kayole area, Nairobi on Friday, November 11th and arrested a Nigerian involved in printing fake US dollars. Over 860,000 fake US currency (pictured above) were recovered in the operation. The police conducted the raid after receiving credible intelligence that he was in possession of the fake dollars. The Nigerian was taken to custody as hunt for his accomplices continues. Police suspect more of the fake papers had been supplied to the market. Unit head Noah Katumo said such money is used for political campaigns in the country and affect the economy.
