Sapele Residents Protest With Generators On Their Heads Against Power Outage (PHOTOS)

Some residents in Sapele area of Delta state engaged in a massive protest against the Benin Electricity company (BEDC) over power outage which they say has been longing for months without any improvement. Some residents were pictured carrying generator sets on their heads during the demonstration.

Southern Kaduna: Audu Maikori calls out Kaduna College of Education over backdated, unsigned rejoinder

Last week, Audu Maikori tweeted that his driver's son and students of the Kaduna state College of Education, were killed by some herdsmen in Southern Kaduna. A statement purportedly released by the school authority, was shared online yesterday, discrediting Audu's tweet as well as a report on the same issue by Vanguard. The statement specifically called out Vanguard. Audu in this tweet, pointed out that the said statement which is unsigned, was released on January 23rd, a day before Vanguard published the report. Meanwhile some people are already calling for DSS to invite Audu over..

The Chinese speciality dish called One Noodle is served at birthdays and is said to bring good luck and long life to those who eat it. The footage which was shared on Chinese social media site, Weibo was filmed at the Huang's One Noodle restaurant in Huanglongxi, a historic town in south west China....

Wenger tells Granit Xhaka to quit getting into tackles following the player's latest red card

If he wasn't such an asset on the pitch, Granit Xhaka will be viewed as a liability no thanks to his disciplinary record. The player was sent off in Arsenal's game against Burnley on Sunday after picking up a straight red card for a bad tackle, the second time this season he has been sent off. The 24yr old Swiss international has struggled with disciplinary problems throughout his career, he has picked up eight red cards for club and country since 2014. Wenger said: 'I think he's not naturally a great tackler. 'In his decision making I think he is quite intelligent on the pitch.

Petrol Station Fire Kills 2, Injures 7 In Ogun

There was pandemonium in Adigbe area, Abeokuta, Ogun State, yesterday morning, as a filing station, belonging to Rabeng Petroleum, went up in flames, killing two persons while seven others, including a seven-year-old boy, were critically injured. An eyewitness told Vanguard that the fire resulted from gas explosion that occurred while a local welder was carrying out a repair work at the filling station. Vanguard gathered that seven makeshift shops, one motorcycle, and a pick-up vehicle were razed in the inferno that took several hours for fire fighters and other security agencies...

One Mohammed Bello of Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, Lagos State has been arrested for the alleged murder of a 32-year-old scrap collector, Ismaila Abdullahi. He was apprehended along with one Tunde, who had fought with Abdullahi. Bello had allegedly used a plank to hit Abdullahi on the head, which made him to slump and die afterwards. Punch Metro learnt that the victim, whose address had yet to be known, was scavenging at a rubbish dump around Ogudu Grammar School when an altercation broke out between him and Tunde, who reportedly challenged his movement in the area.
