Oros Fragrances come into Nigeria

Pictured above are Brand Ambassadors Judy Austin and Yul Edochie. Oros, which means gold, and is a collection of six French fragrances, was officially launched at a well attended, invitation only, launch event on the 12th of February, 2017.
The launch took place at the iconic Didi Museum, owned by Newton Jibunoh, a man who is remembered for his adventurous drive across the Sahara Desert from Nigeria to Europe. The location also houses the Nigerian store of Ermenegildo Zegna, the Italian designer and bespoke male clothier.

Oros is a young perfume brand, with the earliest coming into the market in 2014 and the latest in 2015. Oros has already been successfully launched in the UAE.

Several notable people attended the Lagos launch event including the speaker of the house of Anambra State and her husband. The younger generation was well represented as Uti Nwachukwu also graced the event with his presence along with other young notable Nigerian personalities. The brand ambassadors for the fragrances in the persons of Yul Edochie and Judy Austin, both well known in Nollywood, were also present. High profile Nigerians from different walks of life came through.
The event was an easy fun evening tagged as a Fragrance Tasting and Media Launch. Three tasting stations were set up to showcase the Oros perfumes which are six in total: Oros Pour Femme, Oros Fleur and Oros Holiday Edition for females, Oros Pour Homme and Oros Limted Edition for males and the unisex Oros Oud. The bottle design for the fragrances are elegant and semi circular, clad in leather and studded with Swarovski Crystal elements. The colour of the leather is used to differentiate each fragrance apart from the unique long lasting smell of each one. The tasting notes for the fragrances are described as follows.

Oros pour Femme
Described as elegant, provocative and free spirited, a scent full of passion and emotion, Oros for women is a floral fragrance with an enchanting blend of romantic jasmine and sensual tuberose. The fragrance opens to sparkling notes of bergamot, pear and lily. The heart reveals a floral combination of ylang-ylang, tuberose and jasmine. The dry down mixes white musk, patchouli and amber.

Oros pour Homme
An aromatic, woody fragrance, Oros for men is supremely masculine and seductive. The fragrances open with citrus accords paired up with pink pepper, the heart is a sensual blend of spices and jasmine. The dry-down mixes guaicwood, patchouli and sandalwood.

Oros Oud
Known as the traditional scent of Arabia, oud has been around for centuries. It is quite heady and considered musky and sensual. Oud is an oil and comes from the wood of a Southeast Asian tree known as agar. When the wood produces oud, it is known as agarwood.

As the evening progressed, invited guests went from one tasting station to another and were allowed to ‘taste’ the fragrances as they were sprayed on testers. The fragrances were also at hand for purchase and quite a few people bought the ones they fell in love with before leaving the venue, especially as a discounted price was provided to those who came for the launch event. The guests were treated to finger foods provided by Chef Niyi Williams and a new champagne named Charles VII also making its debut in the Nigerian market.

'We lived together for 2 years before we got married. She's my best friend' Mercy Johnson's husband talks about their marriage

Speaking in a recent interview, Prince Okojie said Mercy is his best friend and being married to her has been sweet and blissful...
"Prior to our marriage, I’d known my wife for three years; we actually met in 2008. We started living together in 2009 and we got married in 2011. It’s been God all the way, there’s no miracle or anything much, it’s just been God. With marriage break-ups and celebrity dramas, I think it depends on what one wants. For me, when I met my wife, I knew she was the one for me. The love, the affection and the tender care are all present, and although we might have some misunderstanding but when we sleep over it, we move on."

Nigerian pastor urges married women who are working to submit their salaries to their husbands at the end of the month

A pastor's sermon on Sunday has become the subject of a heated debate on Twitter after a church member shared one of the topics raised by the pastor in his Sunday preaching.

In his sermon, the pastor told all married women who wanted to have a happy home that the key to that is to submit their salaries to their husbands monthly.
If she needs money for anything, she is to go to the husband and plead for money to meet her needs, but he has to be the one in charge of the money. He was, however, quick to secure his interest by reminding the women to remove their tithe first before submitting the rest of the salary to her husband, you know, just in case the man will refuse to give her money out of her salary to pay the tithe.

What's surprising is that a few Twitter users agree with him, most of them male users. One replied, saying,

"If you can't entrust (him) with a salary, how can you trust him with leading you thru life, trust him to father your children."

The same user went on to suggest that women who wouldn't hand over their salaries to their husbands should get divorced.

Lol. Funny people.

What will your generation do for Nigeria? ex President Olusegun Obasanjo ask Nigerian youths

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday asked Nigerian youths what would their generation do to make Nigeria a better place. According to him, although his generation had failed Nigerians in some area, it cannot be denied that his generation brought about the Unity of the country. He said this when he spoke at the one day symposium organized by the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA).

"My own generation fought for the unity of Nigeria. You cannot deny that. There are many things we must have done wrong but we fought for the unity of this country.  I still have sharp nails from grenades that entered my body that our brothers shot at me during the civil war. But, at the end of it we reconciled. In addition, my generation laid the foundation of democracy in the country. Our democracy is not perfect, our democracy is a journey and not a destination, and we must continue to improve on it. My sons and daughters, what will your generation do? Condemnation is easy but what will you do? There are some people who have taken the bull by the horn and tried their best. But, all in all Nigeria.is still intact. There are many countries that fought civil wars and they are not together. Yugoslavia, Pakistan, Sudan, we fought a civil war sadly, but we are still together. I think for God and thank those who made that possible”he said
