Marriage scam: Nigerian man arrested in India for duping Australian national out of $95,000 on dating site

Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a 31-year-old Nigerian national Mohammed Hassani(31) and his Hyderabadi associate, Mohsin Agha (29) for swindling a 60-year-old Australian citizen, Gregory David Sim out of $95,000 with the help of a Nigerian woman.

The Nigerian woman, who developed friendship through a dating site with Gregory David Sim and two other Nigerians involved in the case were still at large.

"The gang lures men with marriage alliance through dating websites and tricking them into parting with money is their modus operandi" CID,Cyber Crime, Additional SP. U. Rammohan said.

The Australian divorcee, whose hobby is browsing dating sites, came in contact with the Nigerian woman. She introduced herself as Sarah Haimish a year ago and started chatting with him regularly. Six months of chatting and mails later, they decided to get married.
David, a retired sewerage mechanic, told her that his mother was from Australia and father from Turkey and that he had divorced his wife 20 years ago. In response, she told David that she was also a divorcee and currently engaged in supplying fabrics and gems in India.
However, she was stuck here since she had to ‘get dues worth $2.1 million from the government’, for which she had to ‘pay’ $210,000 as tax settlement. During a phone conversation with David, she used to give her phone to Moshin Agha introducing him as her manager who would look after transactions.
When she told him that she could return to Australia if she settles tax, David transferred $95,000 into an Axis Bank account maintained by Agha. Prior to this, he also transferred money in small installments, a CID official said.
"It’s a well-planned crime executed since January 2016. She took necessary precautionary measures to avoid David from suspecting her. After he started trusting her, the gang began seeking money from him,” the official said.
After the amount was transferred into Agha’s account, she asked David to meet her in Hyderabad. Accordingly, he flew to Hyderabad to meet her but he could not find her. She told him she had been to Dubai on some business and the Australian flew to Dubai as well but couldn't contact her.
From Dubai, the Australian went back to Adelaide and returned to Hyderabad where lodged a complaint with the CID. Hunt was on to catch the remaining two Nigerians men and 'Sarah Haimish'

Photo: Two men arrested in connection with murder and possible rape of 10-year-old girl in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 60-year-old man and a 39-year-old Islamic teacher in connection with the the murder of a ten-year-old girl in Ibadan. The police are investigating the case to know whether the deceased was sexually assaulted before she died.

The corpse of the child identified as Ope was found in a soak-away at Mosoke area between Ajibode and Apete communities, on January 6th, a day after she was declared missing.

The prime suspect is Nuru Danjuma (aka) Baba l’Oyo, 60, a menial worker and close friend of Ope’s father. Danjuma is said to often sent the deceased her on errand whenever he was engaged for a menial job in the neighbourhood.

On the day Ope went missing, a search party with Baba L’Oyo as a member was set up to look for her combed the whole neighbourhood to no avail.

The second suspect, Alfa Abdulai Muritala, when the corpse of the girl was found in a soak-away near his house. Muritala went to the police station at Ojoo, Ibadan to lodge a formal complaint but was referred to the Apete Police Station, where the officers quickly swung into action.

According to investigations by the police, Ope was sighted allegedly with Baba l’Oyo on the day she disappeared, as she said to have helped him with some menial work at a house where the suspect worked that day.
Moreover, the owner of the house simply identified as Alhaja allegedly confirmed to the police that she saw Ope with Baba l’Oyo a day before she was declared missing.
It was further discovered that in the evening of the same day, Baba l’Oyo allegedly sent Ope to buy a bottle of soft drink and biscuit for him, a claim which was confirmed by the deceased’s elder sister and the woman who sold the soft drink and biscuit.
According to the police investigation, when the trader asked Ope who sent her on the errand, she claimed it was Baba l’Oyo. As she was taking the items to Baba l’Oyo, the deceased met her elder sister, claiming the prime suspect that sent her on the errand.
"It was after this that the little girl was discovered to have gone missing, with Baba l’Oyo denying completely that she sent her on errand that day," the police alleged.
Speaking with Crime Reports at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan, where the case was being handled, Baba l’Oyo, however, denied sending Ope on the errand, claiming whoever held a contrary view was only out to frame him up. The suspect, who had been separated from his wife after having a child for him, claimed he neither had anything to do with the disappearance or death of Ope.
He also told Crime Reports that since his separation with his wife, he used to patronise commercial sex workers at Mokola and Kara-Bodija areas of Ibadan to satisfy sexual urge.
However, the second suspect, Alfa Muritala, claimed he was on his way to somewhere on that Saturdaymorning, when some people came to seek permission to scoop the water that drained into his soak-away.
“I’ve not started using the soak-away, but water drains into it, and people who need it to mix cement or sand come to obtain my approval to scoop water from the soak-away. So on that Saturday morning, I gave permission to the person that came for that purpose,  only for him to return a couple of minutes later to inform me that he found the corpse of a little girl in the soak-away.
"I was shocked, and the whole community was thrown into turmoil, but people insisted that it was Baba l’Oyo who was last seen with the girl. My residence is just beside the building Baba l’Oyo worked that Friday; so with the discovery of the body, I went to report at the Ojoo Police Station, where the case was transferred to the Apete Police Station, which oversees the community.
“I don’t know anything about this case; I don’t even have a relationship with Baba l’Oyo in the community, as I just know that he is into menial work, and anyone who needs to get anything done like clearing bushes, calls him.
“It is certain that somebody intentionally dumped the corpse of the little girl in the soak-away, and I am happy that the police investigation is already adding up with the statement of witnesses, who saw Ope in the evening of Friday, when she said Baba l’Oyo sent her on the errand to buy soft drink and biscuit,” Alfa Muritala alleged.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Oyo State Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the case, said that an autopsy would be carried out to determine the actual cause of the death of the girl. However, he alleged that evidences given by witnesses indicated that the principal suspect, Bab L’Oyo knew more than he was telling the police.
He promised that the prime suspect would be charged to court once the ongoing investigation was concluded.

Odion Ighalo could be on his way to China as Watford receive concrete offer

Chinese club Changchun Yatai has tabled an offer for Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo and his agents have stirred up talk of a move to the riches of the Chinese Super League. The 27yr old has found himself out of favour under coach Walter Mazarri following a prolonged goal drought. Mazzarri, speaking ahead of Watford's defeat to Millwall on Sunday, said:

'With Odion Ighalo we know there are some offers, but it is still too early to say anything. 'I just heard now there is a very important (bid), but again we will evaluate in the next days. I don't like to say all the details, because I don't know them, but I know there is more than one, and there might be one from China.

'Ighalo was always a very important player for this team, but there are times where a player can end its time with one club and make a decision on their career. These are decisions that are from the club, and from the players, and there is not much we can do about it.'

Since joining Watford in 2014, Ighalo has scored 36 league goals in 72 appearances.
The goals, however, started to dry up last season but Mazzarri can't figure out why.
He said: 'I know that in the second half of last season, he is a player that didn’t do well, and didn’t perform as well as he did at the beginning.

'So the player I received was not the same as in the first half of last season. It was already some time that he had not been performing so well, but I don’t know the reasons why.'

Give birth to only the number of children you can cater for- Emir of Kano charges northerners

Worried by the increasing number of street children aka Almajiris in the North, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has called on Northerners to give birth to only the number of children they can cater for.

The monarch said this when he spoke at the 60th Anniversary, Founder’s Day Lecture and Magazine Launch of Kaduna Capital School.

“You are allowed to marry two wives if you can maintain them. You are also allowed to produce 100 children if you can maintain and educate them, but if you cannot, please marry the number of wives you can maintain and produce the number of children you can take care of. We are obsessed by number as anything produced en masse is cheap. We have produced all these children like commodities They are there on the streets and that is why they die and people don’t care because they have no value. They are also on drugs and people don’t care” he said

Abuja woman slaps gym instructor twice during outburst at the gym (video)

Kudos to whoever this man is. He was slapped twice by the woman and he didn't attempt to retaliate, just kept his cool. And whoever this woman, have some sense and decorum, you don't go about slapping people because you're angry.

According to the sender of the video, the woman flared up after arriving the gym around 6am to find that there was no light and the generator was not put on. She got mad that they basically wasted her time. She actually slapped the gym instructor twice while pouring water on the gym equipment. Shame on you, lady. That's not how to behave.

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic ASUP, to commence one week warning strike today

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics ASUP, will begin a one week warning strike today January 30th to end on Sunday February 5th. The Union's South South and South East coordinator, Dr Chika Ugonwa, made the declaration yesterday in Asaba, the Delta state capital during a press conference. He said the strike became imperative following the refusal of the Federal government to improve polytechnic education in the country.
Amongst the grieves of the association includes failure of the government to review the Polytechnic Act which at present, victimization of union officials, non-release of union check-off dues and undue interference in union activities, deliberate attempt at frustrating the resolutions of the meeting of the council on establishments, sustained poor funding of polytechnics and non-release of  CONTISS 15 migration arrears.
“The President Muhammadu Buhari-led government is insensitive to our plight. After this warning strike, the Federal Government will be left with two options, either to close down the system or redeem it from total collapse. This manifested in poor funding, discriminatory practices,  decayed infrastructure, weak and obsolete legal and regulatory regimes, wanton and wilful breach of agreements as well as serial and sustained cases of impunity in the sector.”Ogonwa said

Must Read! Writer pens an open letter to Nigerian men who advice ladies to keep their vaginas clean

Viola Ifeyinwa Okolie dedicated this letter to Nigerian men, especially those on social media who are 'smelly vagina' counsellors.
Dear Men,
We have been reading your plenty plenty updates on women and their "smelly vaginas" plus your plenty plenty advice on how to keep the vagina clean and we kind of agree with you.

I mean to a large extent, you are the ones that get to dip your pens into the ink pot so perhaps it is only right and proper that you also have the rights to decide whose vagina is smelly and whose is not.

Of course we will not delve into the fact that most of you do NOT even know what smells to expect from the vagina, we'll talk about that another day.

I just thought I should let you know that in appreciation of the fact that the whole world is your toilet, so you have the exclusive male privilege of just zipping down and letting splat against any available wall, into the gutters, spraying the bushes... whatever catches your fancy.

But you see that last drop you always want to think you have shaken off before you tuck obele willy back in your boxers and go away? Well sometimes, you don't get all of it.

One or two mischievous drops still follow you back into your drawers and mingle with the pubic hair, the accumulated sweat in your crotch and the transferred bombom smell you brought over when you first scratched your bombom then also scratched your balls without washing your hand first.

So when you wave your obele willy in a woman's face, and she turns away, it is not because she doesn't know what to do with it, but because she already has a gag reflex to deal with without having to deal with a combination piss/sweat/hairy/bombom smell.

You have to keep that place neat, biko.

Please, every time you pull out your willy to take a pee in your worldwide latrine, please ensure you shake it to the last drop, then wash it with soap and water, leave it outside for a few minutes to air dry, sprinkle a little bit of talcum powder on it before tucking it back in.

You can also always carry a pack of baby wipes for instances when you do not have access to water and soap.

That way, it would be all nice and clean.
Please put a condom on it before you sit on the WC. Spare a thought for your woman, her organs are internal. You can't just leave your willy dangling over the WC, over the pit latrine, etc and then attempt to come and poke it in her?

Then when you have successfully transmitted an infection to her, you would run out on social media to come and regale us with "advice on how to keep the vagina smell free".

Also, it is men like you who use to shave their crotch.

Please clear the hair in your crotch, abeg.
Some of you, the hair there is tough like wire and has dandruff which also has dandruff that has its own dandruff ad nauseam.

You will leave that place unshaven and then wonder why madam lusts after clean shaven (down below) men? You better do the needful if not, if she sees a man whose crotch is nearly shaven, she might be attracted - you know how the devil used to capitalise on your uncleanliness to cause your woman to stray.

Beard gang is for the face and not for the local government headquarters junction.
You can also make that place attractive to us by applying relaxer to your pubic hairs once in a while, or barbing it into a Mohawk.

You know, just the way Tony from the gym barbs his (not that we know for sure o, we are just guessing).

And don't wear boxers, boxers all the time. At night, take your bath and wash your crotch very well with soap and water, then just take off the boxers and let your crotch have air.

Oh, and also brush your teeth.

And wash your boxers daily, then throw anyone you have used at least for a week away and buy a new pair.

You have to constantly be on your A Game okay?

Don't go and relax now because you think you are now married and chase your wife away with your dirtiness.

Muslims pray in Dallas Airport to protest Donald Trump's ban of seven Muslim countries from entering the US

Muslims in the United States on Sunday took to the Dallas Fort Worth airport to protest Donald Trump’s executive order temporarily barring Muslims from seven countries from entering the United States. The protest was going on normally and then there was a loud call to prayer, following which a group of Muslim men converted the baggage claim area to their prayer ground.
Some were against this move by the Muslims, pointing out that no Muslim nation will allow Christians or Jews to take over their airport in this way. While a few others felt it was a necessary move as long as it was kept peaceful.
A day before, a similar, less peaceful protest was held to demand the release of detainees who were held in accordance with Trump's executive order. See video of the protest below...
