32 years after 16-year-old Holly Marie Andrews' partially nude body was found by cross-country skiers 20 feet off a mountainside road, her murderer has finally been brought to book. A day before her body was found, the teenager was last seen getting into a stranger’s car after she left her mother’s home in Littleton, Colorado to walk to a friend’s home. This was in 1976. She had been raped, stabbed in the chest and back several times. Semen was collected from her lifeless body and stored, but the case was not solved due to lack of technological advancement.

The Kaduna State Government today released the White paper on the report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the clash between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria otherwise known as Shi'ites and the Nigerian Army in Zaria in December 2015. The Judicial Commission of Inquiry which examined, among other issues, the immediate and remote causes of the clashes between the Nigerian Army and the outlawed religious group, submitted its report in July 2016. Following the receipt of the report, the Kaduna State Government made the report public within 10 days.

At least 11 people were killed and 75 more injured when fire broke out at Regent Plaza Hotel in Karachi, Pakistan on Monday around 2.45 a.m. The fire started in the kitchen and rapidly swept through the four-star hotel trapping scores of guests in their rooms. According to a Pakistan news site, Dawn, the fire brigade were later able to contain the fire after about 3 hours with 11 people already dead. Suspected kidnappers today dumped the body of a senior strategist with Aliko Dangote Industries, Istifanus Bello Gurama, who was kidnapped tthree weeks ago. In November, photos of an 11 year old Sierra Leone girl, Mamie Sam, went viral due to the nature of what was best described as a 'strange breast condition'. Maime, who resides with her grandparents, cried out for help to the government and other humanitarian organizations to come to her aid. Speaking to a reporter, she explained that some time last year she went on a fishing expedition together with her grand mother and other women in the town. The Lagos State Command have arrested one Haruna Abubakar who murdered his friend and co-worker, shredded him to pieces and dumped him in the bush. The suspect and victim are co-workers in a farm in ibeju lekki, where the suspect is a guard and the victim a herdman.

On Saturday December 3rd, the suspect aged 28 years had an altercation with the victim aged 27 years. The altercation resulted to a physical fight and in the process, the suspect hauled down the deceased with a dagger, cut him into pieces, packed him in a sack and dumped him in the bush.

The brother to the deceased simply identified as Adamu, reported the case of a missing person to the police after his brother did not return home after the day's work.

The clue gathered by the police led to the arrest of the suspect who later confessed to the crime and led operatives to the scene where the disembered body was recovered.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni has directed that the case be transferred to SCIID Panti for further investigation and prosecution.

The young lady pictured above was allegedly strangled by her boyfriend. According to Facebook user, May Ebute, who shared the story, the victim was killed on Saturday night and by Sunday morning, neighbours woke up to find the dead body and the boyfriend missing. The suspect is said to have been arrested yesterday, Sunday, 4th of December 2016, after the body of the girl was found, and is currently in police custody.
