2 soldiers implicated after 2 civilians are nabbed with hard drugs worth N62.4 million

Two suspected smugglers have been arrested after they were found transporting parcels of hard drugs believed to be worth N62.4 million. The suspects, Itobo Egede and Munirudeen Ikumapayi, were arrested by Operatives of the Federal Operations Unit, FOU, Zone A of the Nigeria Customs Service at different Locations - one at the Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode Expressway, Ogun State and the other at Gbeaji Customs check-point, Seme Expressway in Lagos State. One of the suspects, Egede, while narrating his ordeal to Vanguard, implicated two soldiers as accomplices in the crime.

Deddeh Howard, an LA based model, who was rejected by modelling agencies with the excuse that they already had enough dark skinned models has literally taken her career into her own hands. Both players have been leading lights for the club this season and with a decent shot at the title, the club wants to tie them down to new contracts and do away with the distraction of speculation.

Sanchez is on £130K a week while Ozil earns £140K weekly but given their important role within the club, they are angling for vastly improved terms.


 They've both got just 18months and the club risks losing them if their wage demands are not met but Arsene Wenger says they are going nowhere. He said:

'These players have 18 months on their contracts and, no matter what happens, they will stay for 18 months. ‘Hopefully they’ll stay for longer than that. I can’t give any assurances, but they are completely committed. Beyond that we will try to extend the contracts but I cannot make a subject of that. That’s a normal part of negotiating. The less you talk about it the better it is. We will do the maximum we can for every single player.’

FG set to launch an app that will disseminate information about govt activities to Nigerians

The Federal government is set to launch a new app that will help disseminate the activities of the Buhari-led government to Nigerians. Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, yesterday announced that the app which will be called the Federal Government Information App (FGIAPP), will be launched in Abuja on 15 Dec. 2016.

He made the announcement at a meeting with Resident Information Officers (RIOs) from Ministries, Departments and Agencies ahead of the launch.

According to him, the Information App will be leveraging on Social Media to communicate government's policies and programmes to the people anywhere in the world and on real time basis. "We as a government and as Information Ministry will leverage on the unique technology to inform the world about what we are doing.

With the new App, it means anybody anywhere in the world will get to know, real time, what is happening in Nigeria at least from our own perspective and narrative" he said. He said the activities of the present administration are hugely under-reported, hence the need to align with the global trend in information sharing. "The information architecture has changed completely...Today, the story is very different because we have the New Media, and unless you show a very strong presence there, you are not communicating to the world," the Minister said.

He stressed the essence of rich content to make the App viable, and said the necessary training and working tools will be provided for the RIOs in order to build their capacity and ensure effective contributions from their respective Ministries. Departments and Agencies.

New Zealander Richard Lee was applying for a passport online when the system objected to the image he uploaded. According to the passport robot, "The photo you want to upload does not meet our criteria because: subject eyes are closed." But Lee, who is of Asian descent, had his eyes open. "I fell off my chair laughing," he told CNN. "Like, I know I have small eyes and I have no problem with it. But the fact that a computer can notice as well, that's just hilarious."
